2 – HAZARDS(S) IDENTIFICATION

Eye contact: May cause eye irritation

Ingestion: Small amounts of ingestion during normal handling is not likely to cause harmful effects. Swallowing large amounts may be harmful.
Chronic: There have been no reports in literature of health effects in workers arising from long term exposure to this substance.

Toxicity Data:

The product is not toxic.

Precautions:

Avoid generation of large quantities of dust, especially in confined spaces with inadequate ventilation.

PPE:

(Personal Protective Equipment) The use of safety glasses with side shields is recommended when dust, or the potential for dust exists. Also, the use of NIOSH approved dust masks and gloves are not required, but recommended when handling this product and dust is present.

3 – COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

There are no ingredients in this product which are classified as hazardous ingredients above the GHS cut off percentage.

This product is a non-combustible, non-reactive, granular, solid material, gray – black in color which contains humic acids 6.0%, potassium oxide (K2O) 4.0% CAS#:12136-45-7, sulfur (S) 8.4 % CAS# 7704-34-9, and phosphorus acid (P2O5) 1.0% CAS# 1314-56-3.


4 – FIRST AID

Eye contact: Immediately irrigate with clean water or neutral saline solution. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse affected areas with clean running water. Use soap if necessary.
Nose and Throat: Clear nasal passages. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Ingestion: If accidently ingested, dilute with water or milk (Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person). If gastrointestinal irritation persists, seek medical attention.

5 – FIREFIGHTING MEASURES

This product is not considered a fire or an explosive hazard. Firefighting personnel should respond with appropriate protective clothing, firefighting gear and SCBA’s (self-contained breathing apparatus) and use as trained. All other personnel should exit the area and proceed to a gathering area upwind of the fire area.

Any traditional suppression agent may be used in firefighting activities, but the use of water is acceptable as a fire suppressant. Excess water from firefighting activities should be contained and not permitted to enter waterways or drains.


6 – ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions: Follow recommendations in Section 2. PPE
Environmental precautions: Do not allow spills or runoff to enter drains or waterways
Waste Disposal: Dispose of unusable material in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations

7 – HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling procedures: Minimize generation of dust during handling. In enclosed environments, appropriate ventilation is recommended.
Storage: Store in a dry location, suitable for general storage areas. Keep product containers closed. Keep out of the reach of children.

8 – EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Exposure controls: There are no established exposure limits for the potassium salts or the phosphorus oxides.
Personal protection: Reference section 2, PPE. Wash hands and face after handling this product. Launder clothing worn after handling this product.

9 – PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

This product is a non-combustible, non-reactive, granular, solid material, gray – black in color which contains humic acids 6.0%, potassium oxide (K2O) 4.0%, CAS#:12136-45-7, sulfur (S) 8.4 %, CAS# 7704-34-9, and phosphorus acid (P2O5) 1.0%, CAS# 1314-56-3.

Reactions: This product is stable under ambient conditions and poses no known reactive hazards.
Stability: This product is stable under ambient conditions and should be kept in a dry storage area.

11 – TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Rout of entry: Inhalation, Ingestion
Effects of acute exposure: Airborne dust particles may cause irritation to nose, throat, eyes, and lungs.
Effects of chronic exposure: Normal use of this product is not known to cause any health issues. Repeated inhalation is not recommended.
Sensitization to the product: Negligible carcinogenicity. Not considered a human carcinogen.
